Mary Beth Arruebarrena, MHS, CRC, LPC is a nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor by the state of Louisiana. She received a Master of Health Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Louisiana State University Medical Center in 1999 and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University. She has worked in a variety of settings such as hospitals, schools, and agencies with both individuals and families. Her areas of interest include parenting challenges, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and life adjustments. She believes that each client brings their own unique strengths to the counseling process.
These strengths, along with guided conversations and open communication, help the client and counselor work as a team to promote growth. She utilizes a person-centered approach and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) in meeting clients where they are and guiding them to achieve their therapeutic goals. Mrs. Arruebarrena is a member of the Louisiana Counseling Association and is a mom to three teenagers and to one adorable but willful rescue puppy.
