Lisa Burton, PhD, LPC, NCC, and ALPS is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Louisiana and West Virginia. She received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Marshall University and has been a counselor for over 25 years. She has experience working with individuals, couples, and adolescents in a variety of settings and populations. Her areas of interest include relationship issues, depression, anxiety, conflict, coping skills, grief/loss, and life adjustments.

Dr. Burton meets each client where they are and provides unconditional positive regard in her counseling. She believes counseling is a journey where each client must be willing to put in the work for progress to be made. Counseling is a wonderful process designed to help individuals, couples, and adolescents work on whatever they feel is creating issues in their lives. Additionally, she utilizes various counseling techniques and theories into her practice, including solution-focused brief therapy, impact therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, creative interventions, and reality therapy. Dr. Burton is a member of the American Counseling Association, the American School Counselor Association, the Association for Creativity in Counseling, and she enjoys presenting regionally and nationally.
