Gina P. Roussel M.Ed, LPC, NCC is a Professional Counselor licensed in the State of Louisiana and certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors. She received a Masters in Counseling from the University of New Orleans. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, Louisiana Counseling Association and Chi Sigma Iota Honors Counseling Society.
Gina has years of experience working in community and school settings serving individuals and families. She offers couples counseling, as well as, individual counseling for children, adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, family conflict, anger management, self-esteem issues and relationship issues.
Gina’s theoretical approach is person centered, in which she also utilizes Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) and aspects of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She meets the clients where they are and works collaboratively with them towards their desired goals. It is her belief that the relationship between the therapist and client is the foundation for successful therapy. Her goal is to provide clients with a non-judgmental, genuine and collaborative environment. For it is within this environment, that one can strengthen self awareness and become empowered to begin making the positive changes and choices which will improve the client’s quality of life and help them reach their full potential.3
